Academic Director
Peter is the school's Academic Director. Head of our Teacher Training (TEFL) programmes, he works with ACELS, the Irish Department of Education's Recognising Body, as a TIE examiner. The student-friendly, internationally-recognised TIE (Test of Interactive English) can also be taken at Annalivia. Peter also directs teacher development programmes at the school and draws on his extensive knowledge and experience to offer his time as a consultant in all matters relating to best practice in the aspiration to academic excellence at the school. As a teacher, and in a school with students from more than twenty different nationalities and language backgrounds, he likes to focus on pronunciation practice and clear communication, from Beginners to Proficiency, ensuring a thorough assimilation of all the stages of development in language skills, as students progress towards fluency from level to level.

Clare BassettClareClare is Director of Studies for the junior programmes at Wesley College each summer. For more than fifteen years, she taught English to all levels in many countries throughout the world. She also lectures in Teacher Training and is involved in TEFL course design and teacher development programmes at Annalivia. As if that weren't enough, she helps manage the school accounts and is also Director of Studies at the Au-Pair Study Centre! Clare loves all the challenges involved in her busy life and it is that love of her work that makes everything possible.

Jennifer EganJennifer EJennifer is Annalivia's head-teacher. She brings to the school her extensive experience of teaching English abroad, particularly in Germany and Italy. Jennifer's professionalism embodies all the qualities of a model teacher and team-leader. Her experience enhances her skills at knowing and understanding the typical mistakes made by students from so many language and cultural backgrounds. Her work in corporate environments teaching Business English has enabled her to have a special understanding for students who need English at work but have only a short time to do it. Jennifer organises tailor-made courses for international business people at all levels and from all countries on a 1:1, 1:2 and group basis. A true professional, Jeniffer is an inspiration to all of us at Annalivia.
Ciaran McClellandCiaranMany language teachers throughout the world have a second string to their bow. Ciaran is one of them, and his other major occupation in life is art and the visual arts. His installations have become a regular feature at, among many other venues, the local Dun Laoghaire International Festival of the Arts. His knowledge and vast experience as a qualified English Language Teacher has singled him out as Annalivia's advanced classes and Cambridge Examinations expert.
Julie JulieJulie manages our very successful summer centre at Wesley College for junior learners. A qualified and experienced EFL teacher herself, Julie also manages the Au Pair Study Centre which specialises in au-pair placement and evening classes for au-pairs at Annalivia. These part-time classes include courses that lead to the internationally-recognised Cambridge Examinations which take place three times a year.

Every week, students enjoy the benefit of two outings with Diane to explore Dublin and its environment. Nobody will forget Diane once they have got to know her, and some students are still in regular contact with her - even after twenty years! She loves her work and loves working with people from all over the world who bring with them a kaleidoscope of cultures and personalities!

Caroline is also an active member of our Teacher Training team, but it is her dedication to consistency and perseverance in the EFL classroom that students admire so much about her. Many of our students are long-term and it is thanks to the skilled and professional guidance of teachers like Caroline that they are enabled to reach their goals at the end of their stay. Caroline is the first of our TOEIC examiners at the school which offers its services as an authorised TOEIC Centre from January, 2008.

Rupert!RupertRupert is the newest addition to the Annalivia Team. Just before Christmas, Rupert was saved from a local charity shop by Clare. Rupert speaks 4 languages and offers administrative and moral support to the entire Annalivia team. He makes himself available to students to practise their speaking skills (although appointments should be made as he can be quite busy). He has taken up residency in our entrance hall and welcomes students as they come into the school.
