All our Evening English courses are part time and are based in our Dun Laoghaire English School in south Dublin, which is just 7 minutes from Dun Laoghaire train station (DART) and 5 minutes from Sandycove station, we are also only 15 minutes from Dublin city centre.
We specialise in the preparation of people for the Cambridge First certificate, Advanced and Proficiency examinations which take place in March, June and December. Many of our evening English classes focus on these English exams as they are the most widely sought-after English speaking qualifications in the European marketplace. They are task based exams which means that the student has to acquire a range of writing, speaking and other skills which will enable them to function and work in an English speaking job environment. Our approach is simple and effective. We keep our class groups small and this ensures proper student-teacher contact time. We also believe that a language can only be learned in a relaxed and fun environment which is how we approach the imparting of the language. All our teaching staff are very experienced in exam preparation and the students are constantly challenged to extend their skills and awareness of the language by 'performing' various tasks in English. This means they remain stimulated and learn by doing.
Our new English school is equipped with: Free WIFI access for all students, 5 students computers with internet access (free), a student relaxation area (with tea, coffee and snacks), student kitchen, 7 large bright classrooms, outdoor patio. We believe that learning English should not stop once you leave the classroom and so we offer 2 social activities per week, which are free and open for all students to attend. Activities include: Guinness Factory visit, Traditional Irish pub nights, Museums, Irish Dancing nights, Walking tour of City etc. These activities are lead by Diane, our Social Co-ordinator who accompanies the students on all outings and makes sure that English is the common language! |
