Annalivia School of English was established in Dublin city centre in 1977 and got its name from the book "Finnegans Wake" (1939) in which James Joyce names the River Liffey "Annalivia". click here for more info on the history of the school name and logo.
Our new English school is equipped with: Free WIFI (wireless internet connection for laptops) access for all students, 5 student computers with internet access (free), a student relaxation area (with tea and coffee making facilities), student kitchen, 7 large bright classrooms and an outdoor patio.
We believe that learning English should not stop once you leave the classroom and so we offer 2 social activities per week, which are free (apart from entrance fees) and open for all students to attend. Activities include: Guinness Brewery visit, Traditional Irish pub nights, Museums, Irish Dancing nights, Walking tour of Dublin City etc. When in Dublin, do as the Dubliners do! These activities are lead by Diane, our Social Co-ordinator who accompanies the students on all outings and makes sure that English is the common language! click here for more info on our Social Program.

We are located in Dun Laoghaire, in the south east of Dublin, which is an area of great tranquillity and beauty as well as historical interest. Annalivia is perfectly situated because although Dun Laoghaire is quiet and peaceful, it has the advantage of proximity to pubs, cinemas, theatres, shopping centres as it is a large, busy port town. We are just a short 20 minute journey from the Dublin City centre. Students of English with Annalivia have the benefit of a peaceful place to study and learn (by the sea) but also the fun and lively nature of a busy cosmopolitan city.
